Weekly Highlights from the Kindness Fruit Stand

Genesis 6:9 says “…Noah was a righteous man, blameless among the people of his time, and he walked faithfully with God.”

We learned about Noah and the flood this week in Mystery of History and Bible. Through our lessons we saw that there was much more to this story than a flood and rainbow. In groups we used our Bibles to read the exact accounts of this story, and through this we were amazed at what we found!
Some things that stood out to us were:

God chose Noah because Noah found favor in the eyes of the Lord.

Noah was 600 years old!

God told Noah to build an ark  because he was sending a flood to cleanse the world He created.

Noah obeyed God and did just as he asked.

There were only 8 people on the ark; Noah, his wife, their 3 sons, and their sons wives.

Noah only took 2 of each kind of land animal on the ark with them.

God closed the door to the ark.

When the rain started, it lasted 40 days and 40 nights.

The waters rose so high that it covered mountains!

It took a very long time for the waters to subside.

When Noah left the ark he built an altar to the Lord.

We started conducting our math rotations this week. Our math rotations are: independent math, buddy math, kindle math, and work with the teacher. During our buddy math centers this week we worked on doubles, ordinal numbers, place value, fact families, even and odd numbers, and time to the hour. These are all skills we have previously learned. The purpose for these centers are to help us build on our prior knowledge and review these skills. IMG_1697 IMG_1698 IMG_1699 IMG_1700

Check out the pictures below to see what else happened in our classroom this week. These pictures show us recognizing our local law enforcement officers, illustrating our cityscapes in art, and exploring harps and guitars in music!
